Hello, I’m Joanne, a transvestite from South Wales. I’m active in the trannie scene locally and further afield and with my supportive wife Jean have been to numerous events and weekends nationwide over many years. Some of you may know me!

Now, why do I wear a wig? And how have I acquired mine?

All trannies try and model themselves on a woman, be that woman a real person or a fantasy. Such modelling involves clothing (under and outerwear), shoes, wigs, handbags and other accessories, deportment and generally acting as far as possible like a real woman and a wig is an essential part of this. As a balding male I’d look silly and would certainly attract unwanted attention in the High Street if I dressed as a woman but without a wig!

So what sort of wig? I’ve several, depending on the woman I want to be at the time, whether adult schoolgirl, demure lady, tarty slut, equestrian stable-girl or ‘county lady’, maid or whatever.

How have I acquired my wigs? In several ways. All major trannie events such as weekends have trade stands selling various items including wigs and where you can try several. I’ve bought most of mine in this way. Then there’s mail order or over the Internet . This is a good way to view all the styles available but sometimes having the opportunity to try them on with an expert in private is a good option. Periwig can offer both options.
